Available Now: As a Reservations Consultant, you will play a key role in assisting guests and travel agents with making bookings for our river cruise services. Your responsibilities will include handling inquiries, processing bookings, managing existing reservations, and providing exceptional customer service. You will work closely with guests and agents to ensure a seamless booking process and a positive experience for everyone involved.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Guest and Travel Agent Assistance:
- Handle inquiries from guests and travel agents regarding booking availability, pricing, itineraries, and special requests.
- Provide detailed information about the river cruise experience and available options to help guests and agents make informed decisions.
- Booking Management:
- Process bookings for cruises and other services, ensuring all details are accurately recorded and confirmed.
- Manage existing bookings, including modifications, cancellations, and special requests.
- Coordinate with other departments to accommodate guests’ preferences and ensure a smooth experience.
- Customer Service:
- Provide excellent customer service to guests and travel agents throughout the booking process.
- Address any concerns or issues related to reservations promptly and professionally.
- Administrative Tasks:
- Maintain accurate records of bookings and related documentation.
- Prepare reports on booking activity and occupancy rates as needed.
- Assist with managing the booking system and ensuring data accuracy.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with other departments such as sales, marketing, and operations to align booking strategies with overall business goals.
- Communicate effectively with team members to provide a cohesive experience for guests.
- Problem-Solving and Conflict Resolution:
- Handle booking-related challenges, such as overbookings or scheduling conflicts, by finding appropriate solutions.
- Work with guests and travel agents to resolve any issues related to reservations.
- Sales and Upselling:
- Identify opportunities to upsell additional services and amenities to guests during the booking process.
- Promote special offers and packages to increase sales and enhance the guest experience.
Academic or trade qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience in reservations, customer service, or sales is preferred.
- Customer Service Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on providing outstanding customer service.
- Organisational Skills: Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple bookings and tasks simultaneously.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in using booking systems and other software applications.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Capable of resolving booking-related issues and conflicts effectively.
- Sales Acumen: Ability to identify and act on sales opportunities to enhance the guest experience and increase revenue.
- Teamwork: Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with other departments and team members.
